This is the start of Norwegian Hull Club's 2011 ISM/ISPS exercise that focuses on media handling in crisis situations, a situation any shipping company could experience.

"Based on the importance of this and on requests from our clients, we have prepared and added this exercise to our repertoire in 2011. I am extremely happy to see the positive response we have received on the initiative, and I am looking forward to a great exercise year," says Director of Client Services Geir B. Skoglund.

Fruitful discussions and useful experience

As per January 21st six companies have already completed the training, among them Møkster Shipping in Stavanger and Utkilen in Bergen,
Anne Jorunn Møkster CEO at Møkster Shipping is very pleased with the exercise; "With the use of modern technology in combination of role plays, practical training in front of the camera, lectures and last but not least the good and fruitful discussions, we really benefited from this training".

"The exercise was very useful to our company, especially the practical part. It has given us many ideas of what to expect if a situation like this occurs," summarizes Director of Ship Management in Utkilen, Nils Kristian Berge.
