Professor Mahbubani's article, "A Rudderless World" (published in The New York Times 18th August 2011), has triggered many thoughts as to how the world is actually being run. The global maritime industry needs a rudder to survive. The seminar will discuss challenges to the maritime industry from a global to a seafarer's perspective with focus on operational challenges in the Gulf of Aden and Indian Ocean, in addition to high profile casualties
