On 16th and 17th November "Grand Selskapslokaler" in Handelens & Sjøfartens Hus in Bergen is filled with expertise on the subject, eager to teach the future Insurance Managers, CFOs and others that are willing to learn. Invitations to the course are soon to be sent out, and from experience Claims Assistant Ingrid Egenæs Herland expects the 40 seats to fill up rather quickly. She therefore encourages young clients to express their interest as soon as possible, as participation is based on first come, first served. "This Workshop has become more and more popular every time we have hosted it, and we have no reason to believe that the interest will decrease this year", she says looking up from the list of the e-mail addresses that will receive an invitation within a short time.
Solberg and Skoglund together on stage
"The content of the workshop has been pretty much the same ever since we started, developing a bit over the years, of course, but the topics we run through are basically unaltered", explains Åge Solberg, Director of Claims Handling, and together with Director of Client Services; Geir Skoglund, responsible for the professional content of the workshop. "However we do our best every year to present our message in a way that is easily perceived by the audience, and after having tested this out over the years, we are going "back to basics" this year", he continues with a smile. Geir Skoglund fills in; "the two of us have been working together in the "teaching business" through Loss Prevention (now Client Services) since 1997, but it has been quite sometime since we did the Marine Insurance Workshop together, so we are both very excited and keen on cooperating on this again, something we hope the participants will notice and benefit from".
"Expect More"
Claims Director Jostein Egeland is confident that the Marine Insurance Workshop will once again be a success, and he encourages all "freshmen - and - women" to register as soon as they receive the invitation and he promises that they will not be disappointed. "This course is offered to our brokers and members and other clients as part of our concept of getting them to "Expect More" from us. Our members and clients will always benefit from the experience we obtain through handling some 1400 claims every year. Sharing of knowledge and experience will hopefully lead to an increased understanding and maybe consequently to a reduction in the number of claims".
