"It's all about the willingness to change". Client Services offers a wide range of products to our members and clients. Some of the products are familiar, some are new and some are under development. We strive to meet our customers' needs, which means that the content and products will change and adapt to the situation both of the industry and to the specific company or situation.

Loss Prevention

Accidents do happen and unfortunately most of them due to human error. Our Loss Prevention services are devised as a means to reduce such errors by enhancing human relations, leadership, communication and awareness. By arranging and facilitating stress tests and vivid exercises, we uncover the weak spots and focus on how to improve.

In these exercises we have experienced personnel acting in the parts that are necessary for that particular scenario in the exercise.

We believe in directing our Loss Prevention activities towards our member's top management both ashore and aboard. The ability to change and make an impact is dependent on commitment from the top and thus without a dedicated management we feel our efforts will have a limited effect. Loss Prevention is about willingness to change, being open to new ideas and having the conviction to take the steps towards improved communication at all levels.

Courses

An Officers Conference is a gathering where we talk about how to communicate, what common mistakes are made that lead to accidents and what the officers' roles are on the ship - both to prevent accidents, but also what to do when accidents happen. We have exercises and talk through actual situations and accidents.

Marine Insurance Workshop is a two-day course for personnel ashore. This is a basic course in marine underwriting and claims meant for new employees who will have something to do with the insurance industry.

Customised courses and exercises

Norwegian Hull Club's Loss Prevention program is mainly focusing on awareness issues, including the team's ability to communicate, to enhance human relations and to perform in a prosperous working environment. In addition we continue to improve and offer our classical "Crisis Management" programs; we facilitate media training, salvage courses and customise seminars and courses to fit our clients' needs. Our objective is to design the event our members want according to their independent expectations. This way we can be actively involved in helping our members focus on their core values and build their safety management schemes.

Presentations

We work broadly across Norwegian Hull Club's department boundaries and the unit has access to the vast experience of both claims experts and underwriters. The aggregate of these experiences creates the basis for the various presentations we have to offer. When developing the program we utilise to the full extent the powerful combination of our vast experience in handling claims and the in-depth knowledge of our clients. We believe that sharing experiences is the way forward towards safer seas. Through common and agreed Loss Prevention activities we are doing our outmost to assist our clients in their effort to reduce losses and avoid casualties.
