Hull & Machinery
This insurance protects covers losses due to physical damage to the vessel's hull, machinery and equipment caused by marine perils. The Club today cove rs more than 3.000 vessels for Hull & Machinery and is Claims Leader for 1.500 of these. Our preferred role is as Leader but we also participate as a coinsurer.
Total Loss Interests
In addition to the Hull & Machinery cover the ship owner can further protect his in- vestments in the vessel by taking out insurance against the event of a total loss. Our current portfolio is over 2.500 vessels.
Loss of Hire
Many ship owners want to protect their income and cash flow in the event of a casu- alty. The Club insures over 3.000 vessels for Loss of Hire and is Claims Leader for 2.400 of these.
War
We also provide cover against war for international clients and members. All products can be written on a stand alone basis if necessary. We work closely with our underwriting colleagues in both the Special Risks and FD&D and Charterers depart- ments in order to offer bespoke insurance cover encompassing all aspects of a ves- sel's operation.
