Seminar at Her Majesty's Royal Palace and Fortress of The Tower of London

Norwegian Hull Club's Annual Offshore Energy, Special Risks and Builders' Risks Seminar in London was this year held at the Tower of London. With more than 50 key energy brokers attending, the traditional seminar once again demonstrated its position as an important meeting place within the heart of the market.

At the historical grounds of the Tower the venue started off with CEO John Wiik and Director Hans Christian Seim from Norwegian Hull Club providing a recap of the year that has passed and the Club's take on future prospects and continued co-operation with the participating brokers. To illustrate the increased importance of the London brokers Mr. Seim ran through last year's result, revealing that the share of business placed through London over the last few years has increased from 5 to 30 per cent of the energy team's portfolio.

Introduction to Prosafe SE
After the introduction of the seminar, the scene was set for the guest speaker of the year, Mr. Arne Austreid, President and CEO of Prosafe SE. Being in charge of the world's leading accommodation rig company, an enthusiastic Arne held a solid grip of the audience's attention with his dedicated presentation of the company's core values and future plans to maintain their position in the market.

Norwegian Hull Club perspectives
The last part of the seminar was led by Underwriter Ola Skauge, who together with Senior Underwriter Karl Hystad, Underwriter Georg Nygaard and Assisting Claims Manager Rune Henriksen, all working with Norwegian Hull Club, presented the diversity of the products and support the integrated team can provide. While the team keeps their ambition of being the preferred claims leader, providing tailor made wordings and solutions backed up by a solid claims organisation, the message for this year's seminar was just as much that the team also holds great interest in strengthening their position as a trusted follower for the London market.

Enjoying a Beefeater among the Beefeaters
When gathering the world's most competitive energy brokers at a fortress, in a confined room close to the dungeons, one could demur that it would be difficult to establish a sensible atmosphere of openness and mutual trust. However, based on the discussions during the coffee breaks and the luncheon, the social event proved to be an equally important part of the seminar. The real challenge for next year's seminar will be to come up with a surrounding that beats this year's venue, and so far the preferred alternative received from one of the creative brokers is ... Buckingham Palace.
